At our site, our concern is always Canadian aircraft safety. We do everything in our power to make sure that you can get your Canadian aircraft registered and keep it that way. However, on top of that, we always want our aircraft owners, their passengers, and crew to be as safe as possible when flying the Northern skies (or beyond). To that end, we’d like to highlight some safety tips that the authorities have put out about flying during the recent pandemic.
Canadian Aircraft Safety
Obviously, you want to be as safe as possible for your crew, your passengers, and yourself when you’re flying. After all, so much of the research has shown that we’re in greater danger of catching the virus if we’re indoors, and being on a flight certainly counts as being “indoors.” That said, many aircraft are supplied with what are called “HEPA” filters (an acronym for “High-Efficiency Particulate Air”) which capture a strong majority of viruses. You want to check to see if your aircraft have those or something equivalent. By that same token, social distancing, while occasionally annoying, absolutely works. Keeping six feet away (or more) at all times can work wonders. Obviously, that’s not always possible on an aircraft, but every bit helps.
Small Actions = Big Results
Wearing a mask may not seem like a big deal. However, it can keep a person who has the virus (but no symptoms) from giving it to someone who’s more at risk. One thing to keep in mind if at all possible: temperature checks. Checking the temperature of anyone before they get onto your aircraft can help to keep everyone safe. Yes, it’s not foolproof. It, in and of itself, may not be enough. However, when mixed with everything else, it can help to keep all of you that much safer.
PPE Where Possible
Personal Protective Equipment is something that the authorities harp on for good reason. For example, at commercial airports, they say that all “gate agents must wear a face mask during the boarding process when a two-meter distance cannot be respected.” Additionally, they advocate that all customer-facing employees should have face coverings. That’s not all, however. They also believe that employees should be given hand sanitizer, safety glasses, face shields, disposable gowns, gloves, and masks. Again, you may not have all of those for every person on your flight. But, even having a few of those can really help.
Safely in Compliance with the Authorities
By following this, you can ensure that you, your crew, and your passengers will be able to take more flights for many years to come. To that end, we can help you to stay in compliance. Whether you’re registering your vessel for the first time, changing ownership to someone else, looking to change your rating, or basically anything else, we can make it happen that much easier and faster.
