Have you found the perfect aircraft, but aren’t sure how to bring it into Canada? Does the entire process of importing an aircraft seem arbitrary and difficult? Importing an aircraft may not be the easiest thing in the world, but when you find an aircraft you love, it’s absolutely worth it. Moreover, here at the Canadian Aircraft Registry, we can make it that much easier. Registering imported aircraft into Canada has never been as simple and smooth as this.
Registering Imported Aircraft
First things first, you have to make sure that your aircraft is not registered in a foreign country. So, if your aircraft has been registered in America, for example, (since that tends to happen a lot) you need to de-register the aircraft there before you can begin this process. Moreover, your aircraft has to meet all airworthiness requirements to be imported into America, too. If you have any questions about the latter, we’ll be more than happy to answer them.
To Mark or Not to Mark?
If your aircraft doesn’t already have a registration mark, then you can choose to get one. We can make that possible at our site, too. If you’d like, or if you have a certain mark in mind, you can reserve it for only $45, and then use it whenever you would like. Depending on certain factors, your registration mark will almost assuredly be in the C-G and C-F series.
Registering Imported Aircraft from Anywhere at Any Time
You might have read to this part of the blog and thought: “OK, fine, I’ll do all that. But, between buying this aircraft and actually importing it into Canada, I don’t have any free time whatsoever. How can I actually get this form done?” With our site, you can fill out these forms from anywhere. That’s the power of mobile-optimization. So, if you’re in line at the bank, or have a small break at work, or even while you’re sitting there at lunch, you can fill out this form. Many of our customers start filling out a few blanks during morning coffee, then come back to it during a break in the afternoon, and finally finish during commercials at night. We’ve made it so that you can fill out this documentation on your schedule.
Once Your Aircraft Have Been Successfully Imported
After you’ve gotten your aircraft into Canada, congratulations are in order. This is an accomplishment. You’ll have an aircraft to use how you like. That said, aircraft documentation is very much like aircraft maintenance: it has to be kept up with. As circumstances change, your documentation may change as well. That’s why we’ve made it easier than ever to take care of all of the subsequent forms of documentation that you might need as well. So, if you move to a new location and need to update your registration, or you need a new copy of your certificate, or anything else, just email or call us at (800) 998-3527.
