  3. Request in writing that Transport Canada, Civil Aviation deletes the registration of your aircraft (which you can do by using the de-registration form on our website).
  4. Remove the aircraft Mode S Transponder address code and, if necessary, apply for an export airplane airworthiness certificate when required.
  5. Be sure to provide the aircraft’s specific documentation along with the request.

Moving Your Aircraft to Canada

The export airplane airworthiness certificate will be very important if you’re looking to move the aircraft out of Canada. In order to receive it, you will have to fill out a form, which will call for your contact information, the name and address of the exporter, as well as that of the buyer, and the aircraft information. This will include data about the engines, propellers, and manufacturer. Once you have the export airworthiness certificate, you will be able to carry on with the export process, but it’s not exactly done for, as the prior requirement list might indicate. This certificate will only deem your aircraft suitable for export and it won’t cover the rest of the documentation necessary to take the plane’s registration off the Canadian aircraft registry.
