This will maintain the registration currently in place with Transport Canada and merely make sure it switches hands accordingly based on the bill of sale presented to them. This will not only make the civil aircraft register process a lot easier for you, but it will also make the purchase of the vessel official at an administrative level, cementing your ownership even further.

You Are Registering the Aircraft for the First Time

Now, if you are purchasing the aircraft directly from the manufacturer or from a foreign owner, it means that it has never been registered with Transport Canada. In this case, you will have to go through the initial civil aircraft register process. This won’t be that hard, so don’t worry. All you will need to do as part of the process is submit the corresponding for with all the information relevant to the registration. This will include the bill of sale, the certificate of airworthiness, manufacturing data, and contact information for the new owner. Additionally, if you bought a foreign aircraft, you will need to provide proof it’s no longer registered abroad. Once you’ve submitted this form and the additional documents and paid for the fee, it will only be a matter of time before your aircraft is properly registered.
