Updating Your Aircraft Registration HAs Never Been Easier

aircraft registration

It’s vital that you always stay on top of any potential changes that may be needed for your aircraft registration to remain valid and up to date. This is, after all, the legal proof of your aircraft ownership. If there are changes that need to be made, here we can help you know what you need to do.

Aircraft Registration Adding or Removing Owners

There are plenty of instances in which you might need to update your aircraft registration by adding or removing an owner. For example, you might be getting married… or divorced. Maybe it’s owned by a business partnership that’s being diluted, or maybe a colleague is buying off half the aircraft in question. Regardless of the circumstances, these partial transfers of ownership will have to be updated via a change of ownership form. Yes, this will apply even if you are not fully transferring ownership over to someone else. You will also need to make use of this form to add or remove an owner from the registration, so keep that in mind while filling out and submitting the form.

Changing the Address

Now, if you are moving somewhere new, you might think this doesn’t affect your aircraft. However, this aircraft is registered under your name and, subsequently, under your address. This is why, should you move to a new address at some point, you will need to update the address to which your aircraft is registered. After all, you don’t want important matters related to your ownership to be sent to the wrong address. There is a specific form that you need to submit this update and it is self-explanatorily called the change of address form. This form, which is available on our sidebar menu, will easily and conveniently allow you to submit the change without a hassle.

Adding a New Rating

When it comes to using your aircraft for specific purposes, there needs to be a specific aircraft rating that stipulates and determines what the particulars of this one aircraft are.

  • Night Rating – Not just flying your aircraft during the day but also while at night.

  • Seaplane / Landplane – A specific type of aircraft rating that applies to whether the plane is used for land or sea landing.
  • Passenger Carrying – A specific rating for ultralight aircraft to carry additional passengers.
  • Flight Instruction – For when the aircraft is going to be used for teaching and instruction purposes. Different ratings will be needed depending on the kind of aircraft it is, be it an aeroplane and helicopter or a glider, balloon, gyroplane, ultralight, or aerobatic aircraft.

The form to add a new rating to your aircraft is, as always, available on our sidebar menu for your convenience.
